Hannah's first trip to Minnesota!!!

This year for vacation we decided to take a trip back to Minnesota. It has been a while since we had driven that far for a fishing trip, but we knew that it would be worth it.  For those of you that don't know my family, we traveled to Minnesota most summers for fishing when I was a kid up till college, so it was like going to our second home. We tried a different resort, but I think we would all agree, that it was a good one.

Hannah had a great time with everyone and she did really good in the boat.  Her main task each time was to have us cast out her Dora pole and she would reel it in or  'wrap it' as she called it. That went on for about 7-8 times, then she would be finished for a while. The pole only ended up in the water once and thank goodness it floats!!! No, she didn't really catch any fish, but that might have been because her hook was on top of the water next to her bobber.  I was almost sure a big one would come and grab her bobber because she was reeling it in so much, but they never did. She liked to get mama's artificial worms and pluck them apart. Of course there was also a lot of snacking while out in the boat.

We also enjoyed a little bit of time in the pool. Hannah is really getting the hang of swimming, but still needs the floaties.  Overall, we had a really good time and the fishing was fabulous.  We all limited out on bluegill and had to eat fish once a day, just so we could keep catching them.

As you can see, it is very hard to get all of them to look at the camera at  the same time.

Friendly, it was !!!

Dressed up and ready to get in the boat!!

You know you are in Minnesota when you see trees in
the median and can't see the cars coming the other way.

Papa's boat and our boat- which is also Papa's boat but he lets us use it.

The famous loon of the north.

We couldn't go out in the boat without a 'nola bar'.

one bucket of many!!!

In between the excitement, we did manage to get a good nap out of her everyday.

This was our cabin for the week. Not fancy, but good enough.

Happy Birthday Papa!!!!

Looking young as always!!!

Going for a ride with Shelby- or Yelby ( as Hannah calls her)

I think she is saying, "Get me out of here!"

A Visit to the Kosciusko Fair

When we rode in the fair parade on Sunday, Hannah was so thrilled about watching all the tractors that came in after us- we rode in the Sports Bug with Baba.  So the first things we did when we went to the fair later in the week, was visit the tractors.  When we first brought Hannah home, we had her ride the John Deere Pop Pop with Papa and she wasn't real excited, but she has turned into quite a tractor fanatic.  We think she would have sat on all of them if we would have let her, but we decided to pick the important ones. :)

You can't see the name, but this is an Oliver for Papa Grossman!!

This is for Papa Schaetzle!!

Hannah liked to tickle the animals' ears.

This horse was a little fiesty!

Having a great conversation about the pigs.

More Fun with Cousins!!!

A few weekends ago, we traveled to Indy to Roger's brother's house for the 4th of July.  We had a really good time and even though it was blasting hot, the cousins enjoyed a little time in the pool.  Not only did they swim, but they also had water guns and at one time Hannah had double guns. She had a great time.

Double guns!!!

Payback from Mommy.

A Big Weekend!!!

Yesterday was a very BIG day for Hannah and the rest of the family, because our niece, Allison was getting married. On Friday night, Roger's brother and family came to stay with us. Hannah loves when her cousins
come to visit and stay the night. Hannah doesn't get to spend a lot of time with her cousins, J and A, but that didn't matter, because by the end of Saturday night they were best buds.
Saturday morning, J and Hannah decided to relax a bit in the pool.  J kept getting Hannah wet by dumping water on her with a cup, but Hannah had the bigger weapon- the hose!!!  Once Mama turned off the hose, that made Hannah a little angry, so J showed her how she could fill the hose with water and then tipping up the hose. Hannah thought that was pretty clever.

Around 11:00 a.m., we started getting ready for the big day.  Hannah was the flower girl and J was a junior bridesmaid.  We turned the Grossman household into the Grossman Salon and made everyone prettier than they already were.  We met the bridal party at the trails for some pictures and then headed to the wedding after a very short nap.  Hannah and I had been practicing dropping petals for the last few weeks, but she hadn't been so successful the last few times, so Mama was a bit worried. Also, I was worried that she would want to go pick the petals back up right away because that was what we did at home, when we finished walking down the hallway.  Well.... with a 20 minute nap.... she did a great job. Only 3 petals were dropped  but at least she walked down the aisle with J and she didn't throw a fit!!! Thanks J for being such a great cousin to our little girl. She loves you greatly and will always look up to you.

Wow- look at those beautiful girls that will  be gorgeous young ladies too soon!
Did you notice the curls? Unfortunately the humidity did not help them stay the whole night.

Congrats K and A!!!! We love you!

She was rewarded with a sucker after she met mommy at the end of the aisle!!!

Dancing the night away and boy did she dance!!!

R and R- 2 of the older cousins.

On the last song, everyone formed a circle. Hannah decided to get in the middle, run around, and show everyone her bubbles. She was so giddy by the end of the night, but never fell asleep until we put her in bed. We all thought she wouldn't make it out of the parking lot, but she did and she even watched the fireworks on the way home.
Hannah working on her bubbles!!

Sending them off!! Have a great honeymoon!!

Huge Fun with the Boys!

Last week, some friends of ours, the Harmans, traveled to Guatemala to find a house to live in once they move there in August for mission work. They are planning to run a school with some other friends of theirs along with lots of other things. They will live in the upstairs of this building, but the new building they are working on for the school will not be completed until November. So they needed to find a place to live until then. They dispersed their seven kids to many people and we were able to have the two little ones Mon.- Wed. during the daytime.  Although there were plenty of fights between bikes and a few tip overs, they had a good time. If you are interested in their mission work you can go search deepstreamglobal.

I love my new pool, Mama!
